Fan Into Flame

Many times, when we hear this text we focus on fear. Don’t be afraid. When Paul instructs Timothy to “fan into flame” he is saying more than don’t be afraid. Stir up the gift or fan into flame is an admonishment to actively cultivate and use it, preventing it from becoming dormant. The issue with many of us is that we are not cultivating our gifts. This is an investment to improve and expand our ability and understanding of our gift.
